Letter from CEO & President
It is my desire as an educator, trainer, coach, and mentor to empower organizational leaders and staff to meet their fullest potential.  This is accomplished when we create a learning environment that is safe, supports risk-taking, and invites a sharing of ideas. We call it psychological safety.  There are two core elements that I believe are conducive to establishing such an environment, (1) the leader acting as a guide, and (2) promoting respect for all things and all people.
When the leader's role is to guide, providing access to information rather than acting as the primary source of information, the followers search for knowledge is met as they learn to find answers to their questions.  It also ensures that individuals are taking accountability for their own learning and development.  For people to construct and retain knowledge, they need the opportunity to discover for themselves and practice skills in authentic situations.  I believe in mixing up my methodology based on the material, rather than trying to fit the material into the same pedagogical box.
Equally important to self-discovery and accountability is having the opportunity to learn things that are meaningful and relevant to one's life, both personally and professionally.  Developing a curriculum around participant interests fosters intrinsic motivation and stimulates the passion to learn.  This is achieved when organizational leaders and staff are encouraged to dialogue about the lessons and topics of application.
For myself, teaching, training, and coaching provides an opportunity for continual learning and growth.  One of my hopes as a leader is to instill a love of learning and mastery in my clients as I share my own passion for learning with them.  In our competitive society, it is important for individuals to not only receive solid training and development but to work with someone who is aware of and sensitive to their individual needs.
Finally, I believe that less can be more.  Each class, training, curriculum design, and strategic innovation has a particular goal, and each is met with careful preparation.  I want our clients to become real partners with us so that leaders engage with the material at hand, and leave each interaction with concrete practical understanding and the ability to sustain leadership and learning.
